AnonymousGuestI am looking for a meditation chime, the one that can chime or make some type of sound by a predefined interval. If you have used the Longevity breathing audio, you can hear the bells every 3 or 4 or 5 seconds. That is what I am looking for. Does any of you have any recommendations regarding a product that can do this? Thanks a lot!

AnonymousGuestThere are a bunch of apps for smart phones that do exactly what you want. I use Insight Timer from Spotlight Six Software – http://spotlightsix.com/

AnonymousGuestThe Enso Meditation Timer is great, but it’s pricey. I’ve tried the smartphone apps and some other timers but the Enso is the best for me. Check it out.

AnonymousGuestHi, Matthew,
Where did you buy it? Do you happen to have a web link to the product? Thanks a lot.

AnonymousGuestHi, Colin,
Thanks for your information. How does it work? Is the interval of chime fixed, or can it be adjusted? Do you happen to have a link to the product ?

AnonymousGuestHey Matthew, I decided to take you up on the Enso med. timer. Question; on Dharma Craft’s website I watched a video showing the overall med session length. Does it also have a setting that would let me set , for ex, a 20 minute overall med length…and within that 20 minutes, also have chimes set for every so many seconds so I can practice my breathing with it?

AnonymousGuestMatthew, does the enso timer allow you to set an overall time
for the whole session, then also let you set smaller intervals within the session like 5-6 seconds for counting breaths?
I assumed so but wanted to be sure before I spend the bucks on one.December 17, 2013 at 8:18 pm #133185
AnonymousGuestSorry it took me so long to answer. Lots of things going on and I wasn’t checking in to the forum regularly. Let me know if you still have questions or if it’s too late.

AnonymousGuestHey Matthew, I got a reply from Enso that their timer does not allow for intervals in seconds to monitor our breaths, during the overall, for ex, 20 min. meditation period.

AnonymousGuestInsighttimer.com has kept me faithful to meditation for quite some time now. It has many settings for intervals and lets you make presets for lengths of time with bell sounds of any number of seconds you want. I find it interesting to know the total number of people using the app and meditating around the world at any time you log on. It keeps track of total days, total minutes, length of your meditation, charts & stats that compare results from month to month. And rewards you with stars for making a series of days in a row. You won’t want to break a chain of 9 days in a row for example and then miss day 10 where you would earn a green star!!
