    Hello,

I have been releasing a lot of tension from the spine, and have been working intensively with re-aligning the spine for quite a long time. Only now do I seem to be making some kind of progress, and some releases seem to make me feel very cold. Is that normal?

    Many thanks…

Well, I can not easily say anything from a distance, nor is my knowledge based on the Energy Arts curriculum. but I think I can try an educated guess, based on my training in other methods.

Does the cold feel pleasant or unpleasant?

1)If it is pleasant, then it might be some form of energy release, releasing an overcharged area. In the first method of Qi Gong meditation I learned, there was often a kind of cool feeling, as you are actively trying to cool down your Fire thoughts and balance your water and fire.

2)If it is unpleasant, it is probably some form of blocked emotion that is released, but is to abstract to be concretely named. In this case it should pass if you carefully explore it and feel it.

Another possibility I have experienced myself is that if you meditate too long, longer than you are ready to, the body brings down its energetic level more (e.g. lower blood pressure) than your mind can balance out by activating energy. That’s why I was tought to balance intense meditation practice with external Gong Fu.

Well, these at least are my ideas on it, Again, any advice I give is subjective.

Those are some very interesting comments, thank you.

I have a cold syndrome, so was wondering really if one approaches the source of the syndrome (whether physical or whatever), then it becomes more apparent…

Another aspect I might toss out, along with Markus’s comment, is how “physical” does the cold feel.. in the sense that a strong change can be felt in releases that affect fluids…
I find that blood-releases (increased circ into an area) are a bit easier, thus sooner, and more familiar to us.. while Cerebral-Spinal fluid ( CSF) as well as lymphatic fluid flowing into an area can feel cool, usually like an actual fluid has been injected almost.. dispersing like pouring ink into a bowl of water- the cold spreads.. (at least that is how I’ve felt it by and around my spine).. in contrast with the first, I think these releases are harder (ie take longer), as well as an unfamiliar- unrecognized feeling..

and in term of your last comment, Guy, not sure I understand it exactly (so I regret if I’m off a bit), but I definitely find as I become more aware (both awakening/activating the nerves in an area, as well as ‘learning-the awareness’ attention upon it, incorporates it more) that it “turns up the volume” so to speak.. (ie “then it becomes more apparent…” as you end the above)

    Yes, thanks Gary, I think that’s it…
