Hi, Do you repeat the short form in order to have your practice session last for more than the 4 minutes? If so, would you go right into the next form, with conclusion serving as commencement? And, would you go through the steps of storing energy in conclusion as Bruce describes in lesson 89, or would you save the storing for your final repetition?
Any thoughts/directions on continuing and repeating the form would be welcome. Thanks!

    Hey Rupert,

In class we often run through the form 2 times without stopping as part of our warm-ups. Sometimes we do 4 or even 5 cycles of the form…usually reserving the gathering practice for the end of class or a practice session.

Thanks Dan, do you go right from conclusion to raising your arms out to the sides, or do you repeat the beginning of commencement?

At the end of the form on the final peng movement and just before the the final Ji movement of the extending the fingers is their a ‘mini’ bend? The reason that I ask this is because after the Ji movement before the sideways peng movement of the arms their is a tuck. From the peng movement to the last Ji, the movement feels ’empty’ with no force or balance even when shifting the weight forward onto the balls of the feet. I tried to see if Bruce was doing a mini bend before the final Ji but it was too hard to see. It appeared as if his waist dropped slightly but it wasn’t clear. When the Ji is done at the commencement of the form it is very clear that there is a bend coming into peng and then a tuck going into Ji and doesn’t feel empty. But at the end of the form you already have a tuck position in place by peng which leaves the rest of the move feeling empty.
