Continuity and manifestation.(chapter 6)

Hi everyone.

I am very fascinated by chapter 6 of TTC. I found it very helpfull in my practice and worldview. I have a question.. or maybe just need to write it here. So fire and water, manifestation and essence, continuity of light ray, and manifestation of light itself.

How they are interrelated ? I mean why one is corresponding to another in a such ways that we observe in our life ? ( i Understand that it is a stupid question^)

i want to quote smth: 11. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire…
(Matthew 3:11)

So the duality of water and fire in Christian tradition.. And i mean we all see the fire manifestation, it is just everywhere within human being, and out in the space. But why water? And why repentance? In my culture we understand repentance like turning. I mean in aur age there are a lot of opinions about what is good and what is evil, where is sin and where is another. But simply possibility of turning.. from one view, mind state, and deeds to another is possibly the water quality of our nature, my nature )

I mean when you, within this life, effortlesly ( sometimes) turn your worldview ( or it is turning by itself) – you create the possibility for fire manifestation, wich is emerges between one state and another.
