Any restrictions to doing qigong after eating? If there are, then more or less how long after eating should one be able to do qigong? Thank you
Hi Jorge,
Bruce Frantzis’ general recommendation is to wait an hour after eating before beginning your practice. This is because much of your energy, as well as your blood, goes into your digestive organs. Qigong practices are designed to circulate your energy through various systems of your body. So by practicing qigong too soon after you eat you are working in opposition to the natural flow of energy in your body.
However, if your schedule is such that you cannot find a way to wait an hour after you eat to do your practice, just leave as much time as you can and don’t worry about it. It is better to practice after eating than to not practice at all.
