    hi all,

I developed a significant energy imbalance from a significant amount of intensive concentration meditation – I felt very unwell – energy currents in body, spontaneous tension in neck, chest, and pelvis. For months I was very sensitive to any kind of meditative work – so I had to cut back significantly – but the energy imbalance continued.

I ended up seeing an acupuncturist and tai chi/qigong master who helped me settle the energy.

I knew nothing about energy imbalances but started learning Dragon and Tiger Qigong 4-5 weeks ago and have practiced about 10 minutes daily. I have more or less learned the first 5 movements.

After an initial period of feeling quite well, I noticed that the practice has very significantly decreased my libido below normal for me and I feel somewhat flat. I am wondering if this has happened because the energy has changed so much through practice.

I am thinking of alternating (every other day) 10 minutes of practice/learning to practice Dragon and Tiger with a few minutes of standing meditation to see if this maybe increases my energy a bit. I tried standing meditation a few months ago when my energy was in a different place and I believe it caused some insomnia but I think the energy is different now.

If anyone has any thoughts on what may have happened and/or recommendations for moving forward I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much.
