AnonymousGuestIve been practicing Energy Gates using Longevity Breathing Techniques as much as I can but I notice that my breath lengths tend to shorten while doing the swings and spine stretch.
Are there any guidelines as to how to best use the breath for each of the above mentioned moves ?
Thanks,
Kevin

AnonymousGuestI’ve only been doing it for a little while, but what I’ve discovered so far is that as soon as I start to move I get back a fair bit of muscle tension around my belly area in particular, which limits the movement of the diaphragm and its ability to give full breaths. I’m just trying to be aware of the tension and to do the movements really slowly so that I can feel what is going on and then possibly let go.

AnonymousGuestHey Kevin-
Working with the breath in these moves is just one of the things that you can focus on. I would recommend just focusing on not holding the breath when you do swings or spine stretch. That’s going to get you further down the road with them than trying to do anything specific.
As far as length of the breath, it’s pretty natural for that to change based on the type of activity you are performing. With all the Taoist breathing techniques, we emphasize a smooth change from in to out and out to in, rather than a set length.
Make sense?

AnonymousGuestYes! This makes perfect sense.
Thank you Dan,
