Connection is really simple in the beginning but it requires many, many hours of training. How do internal arts train connection?
Most of them start with the basics: relaxing, breathing, alignments, etc. The goal of relaxing is to reduce and eliminate unnecessary tension in the skeletal muscle. Old habits die hard and getting rid of habitual tension from old injuries and trauma can be time consuming. Breathing improves oxygenation, aides relaxation, and improves blood flow to all parts of the body. Basic alignments teach you to stand and move while reducing as much unnecessary muscle contraction as possible. Dissolving speeds relaxing of the muscles by releasing the nerves, re-establishing nerve pathways, improving your ability to feel all parts of the body, and strengthening the central nervous system over time.
You can easily spend a decade working on connection, and in my experience, you never stop working on it.
