If you have access to the Bagua mastery program, you might have read my posts like “Crosses of Limbs and Torso”. The gist is the last form (Lake Palm Change), or in neigung (Gods Playing in the Clouds), or in Hsing-I’s case (Heng Chuan), is always about integration.
Watch the newly posted video, “Heng Chuan (Earth Fist) Qualities”. Bruce mentions the importance of this function in the first sentence.
In my Bagua posts, I stressed how important the crosses were to this integration. Here the fist is even called the crossing fist.
The form reflects this in its external movement. Watch the large style demo, “Heng Chuan – Large Style”. Stop the video at 9 seconds in. Watch how Bruce moves his right arm and left leg in coordination. This is an external representation of the crosses that should be occurring inside.
