Does anyone recommend getting the 11 DVD set that Bruce is offering now? I’m mainly interested in the Santi standing posture as it relates to this meditation. What insights can those of you who are working with these practices give me about this program.

……hi Joan, I found them excellent value – accessible (easy to navigate menus) and very informative – the content and practice have certainly added layers and depth to my own standing meditation and other practices – a real challenge is finding the time to fit it all in!

I think they’re worth it, too. It’s too bad the I-Chuan DVDs aren’t packaged separately from the Hsing-I set, but that’s not too bad a thing. Colin’s right about the production values being high: the menus are good and it’s easy to navigate through the set. I’ve kind of put it on the back burner since I’m also doing the Bagua Mastery Program. I’ll get to them in a serious way eventually.

    Thanks Matthew and Colin,

I had my Dragon and Tiger Qigong Teacher (who studied with Bruce) go through some concepts from I Chuan Standing Postures and was amazed at what it contains. I’m going to inquire about purchasing this section separately. I wonder if they get a number of us asking for it, they might allow it.

I’d be interested in in the I Chuan too.

    Hi Joan,
I did buy the Hsing I/IChuan DVDs and they are good as others have mentioned.

One of the big take-aways I got was when Bruce mentioned how valuable San-Ti practice is for developing a powerful follow-through energy. It is very Yang, which gives you the “stick-to-it-iveness” to power your way through difficult times or keep you going when you’re plateaued.

He also mentioned that Master Liu used this practice every morning to jumpstart himself and power up for the days activities.

Since almost none of us are going to be martial artists, this, along with the potent health benefits it brings, are it’s real value as I see it.

Hsing-I and San-Ti are in and of themselves, not spiritual practices, but doing them strengthens you and lays a good foundation for you to have one.

I bought this set because of I Chuan primarily. I was waiting for EA to put on sale 4 DVD’s as stand alone but eventually decided to buy the whole 11 DVD’s. My impression so far is that I Chuan picks up where the Opening of the Energy Gates stops. I could be totally wrong on this though. I can say I like this section.

As for SanTi – I’d suggest reading information on the EA website first, you can actually start practicing it with that info.
