The book says that the kwa unfolds as your hand flicks, does the kua stay unfolded until you turn in the other direction?
Gary, your question has made me curious. I never realized the kwa was supposed to unfold when you do the flick, but I did find it in the book (on pg 114 if anyone has the book). I know in my own practice, the kwa is pretty much neutral when I actually do the flick, and I start unfolding when the hand starts to drop. I think it’s safe to say the kwa (on the flick side) continues to unfold as you turn back to the center position, then you begin folding into the kwa on the opposite side. But I would be interested to hear a little more about what the kwa is supposed to be doing during the actual flick, as that is something that I think I may have missed…?
