AnonymousGuestHello,
The opening movement done before getting into SanTi (the hands making a large overhead circle before pressing down to the ground) looks identical to the Bagua SPC Warmup. What is the relationship between those two preparatory movements ?

AnonymousGuestHmmmm,
maybe I should have opened this thread in the PiChuan/Santi section of the forum…December 10, 2013 at 7:15 am #133836
AnonymousGuestBruce describes each position as a place in the circle. He did this somewhere in the bagua mastery program i believe. The begining position is the most yin (begining, the gathering point). As your hands circle they eventually get to the most yang postition where you’ve gathered greater amounts of energy. Pulling your hands and energy from the top to the bottom as your hands move back to the start is essentially filling up your dantian tank before you extend into santi.
This is an energy gathering practice. The more open each position is, the better connected to the dantian, the quicker your qi can get online, the better you can work with it in santi.peace

AnonymousGuestOK, so basically you’re telling me they’re the same thing.
