While Bruce Frantzis has listed the major forms of Tai Chi, there are also some others. I have been taught the Wudan Tai Chi, also Wudan Qigong and a couple of sword forms. Apparently, these forms have been kept in family trees until very recently, being taught by grandfather to grandson from generation to generation. Reportedly, fathers were not taught the skill since they were occupied with maintaining the family and didn’t have sufficient time to practice. Unfortunately, the person who taught this form has passed earlier this year.
The Wudan forms are much longer than other similar forms of which I am familiar and much more involved with many movements that can trace to other forms of martial arts.
BTW, I have practiced Tai Chi for over 25 years and am currently teaching a small class.
