AnonymousGuestHello,
I have just started the Openings & Closings course. Since I am new I am obviously viewing and practicing the beginner materials. My question is, should I only start the intermediate material upon completing all 12 months of beginner materials? In other words, Year 1 (first 12 months) would be beginner material and year 2 (second 12 months) would start with the intermediate material in Month 1 and progress through the other 11 months?
Thank You

AnonymousGuestIMO you can start intermediate material immediately if you have practiced the corresponding system before.
For example you’ve been doing taichi already and know the form movements good. Then there is sense to enrich them with openings and closings. If you do not know the movements sequence yet – you should learn them first.February 20, 2018 at 11:59 pm #136850
AnonymousGuestHello Tommy,
Thanks for joining the Training Circle! Yes, your understanding is correct. It is suggested that you go through all 12 months of the beginner materials before moving into the intermediate. If you want to be really throrough, you won’t move into the intermediate material until you’ve mastered the beginner material (even if it takes longer than 12 months!).
You’re welcome to watch the intermediate materials even if you aren’t ready to practice them as Bruce often suggests that students just watch and listen to the materials several times before practicing. You just want to be sure to clearly separate what you watch in the intermediate from what you practice until you are ready to incorporate the more advanced materials.
We hope this is helpful.
Warm Regards,
Energy Arts Team

AnonymousGuestAnyone else notice that as you improve on opening and closing of the elbows it automatically causes the opening and closing of the wrists and hands?
