    Hello!
since I’m Dutch, and i don’t always understand english very good, I do not understand some parts of Bruce teachings. Can anybody explain to me (because I can better read english dan understand by listening) how the meditation in week 4 month 1 works? I have understood that you have to feel every day another part from your head, while counting from 1 till 10 and back. But when you have to feel everything at once, or when you have to feel every part from before again, I don’t understand. Bruce said also something like: try to create a space who stops or ‘fourfills’ the countdown to distraction. I don’t know what I have to do by that.

It’s not easy that my knowledge of English is insufficient, but I would nevertheless love to continue this meditation! I hope someone can make it clear to me.

    Thank you very much!!

Hi, Sara! The point of week 3 and 4 is to feel each part separately, and then combine them. I think there are several ways to approach this, you can decide which feels easier to you. I’ll give you some examples, maybe that will be easier:

1)Feel crown (top) of head. 2)Then forehead (front) of head. 3)Then crown and forehead together. 4)Then temples (side of head). 5)Then crown, forehead, temples together. 6)Then back of head. 7)Then crown, forehead, temples, back together. 8)Then third eye. 9)Then crown, forehead, temples, back, and third eye together, etc…

I think you can play around with this basic pattern as long as you are always working from top of head to bottom, and using the idea of doing the parts by themselves, and then as a group. Eventually you will end up doing the whole head.

Bruce wants us to look for any signs in these parts of the head that tell you that you are about to get distracted. For example: if you feel a twitch in your left eye right before your mind gets distracted, you would try to ‘open’ up that area, in order to avoid being distracted. ‘Creating space’ usually means to let your mind open, or soften around whatever area is causing the distraction. Play with letting your mind relax further around distracting areas or feelings. Relaxing and opening the mind has a feeling of ‘creating space’ and will help you to be less distracted.

I hope this helps. Don’t worry, some others were confused about the instructions, so it might not be your English! ;) If there is any part you are still having trouble with, let us know – I can try to re-word any part you still find confusing.
