Separate and Combine

At this point I’m bouncing back and forth between Liu’s step #4 and step #5. When I’m practicing the one change, I may notice gaps – places I’m not fully connected or where I’m imbalanced.

I go back to step #4 and separate. I break down the pieces and hunt down the gap. I isolate it, train that particular section, and then try to combine. So, step #5 is a more advanced stage of integration. Step #4 is a training a whole bunch of pieces concentrating on one piece at a time.

This is literally the process of separate and combine.
