I haven’t spent much time practicing sinking chi, but I have encountered an issue.

The rise and fall of my breathing impacts on me being able to both focus on, and sink my chi down. When I get a feeling of chi moving down my head, this is halted and even moved back up when my breath moves up my body.

Any advice on how to work with this would be great.

Hello congrats on your experience, and I had a thought (but just my two-cents/opinion). Something you might try is put your attention (presence and awareness of the energy) in a place, say the top of the head [but also practice just starting at an arbitrary lower-down place, like on your hand- to make a connection easier to devel]- and stay in that place and have the sinking flow “through” it (as the chi sinks, not so much you “make it” nor “move with it”..).. and stay in that place for a number of breathing cycles.
The idea being that what you “may” be feeling is the moving of the fluids, from referred-pressure (hydrostatic, from the size alteration from breathing), as well as the tissues moving.

This is a good access to feel the underlying tone-freq, which the energy can be felt moving through… but also if you find a stability in one place with the “wave-like flux” of the breathing , feel that happen, while simultaneously feel the essence “beneath/behind” that (there “may” be a distinction of a layer that has that upon the its surface, and sensing that may open a new level).

Either way, trying this may (rather than what I mention above) lead to other conclusions, and most of all revealed-experiences.
Seeking the ‘golden-thread’ (that which connects and appears in different forms, and yet is the same core… how to sense that beyond thought, or symbol-description- reminds me of Rumi’s referenced “field”) -luck

Thanks so much for taking the time to describe a different way of approaching and working with what I may be feeling. It’s really helpful. I look forward to taking on your suggestions.

You’re very welcome, I’m glad it seems it may be of some use. Good to hear from another seeking/struggling with these same issues, as I do -cheers

Good day, and have a good time.

I have a question, when i sinking chi while standing, some time though arising. Not a good one some times. Some times i can sense energy rising with thought, up to my head and even higher.

Give me please advice, what do i need to do with such energy?
try to sink them back, or let them fly out, or?

    Thanx in advance!

Hi, Ivan – and others who may have this same question. I know this question was asked in the Bruce Q&A section, so I was waiting to hear the “official” answer, but it looks like he didn’t quite get to these questions last time. Hopefully he will in the next question section.

In the meantime, for lack of a better response, I suspect that thoughts, even seemingly negative ones, are better just left alone at this stage. If they come up, just let them go, and don’t try to either follow them or push them away.

I also think that PROBABLY the same holds true of the energy that rises up to your head with the thoughts. This is something that I would rather hear from Bruce or a senior student, though. You may find that it gets less, or goes away entirely as you practice more. If it increases or seems to be becoming a problem, maybe some further advice is required…

Hopefully Bruce will address this more in his next Q&A session!

    Great thanx Catherine.

During last month i almost forget about this rising of energy from below. Not because their gone. But because i’l adapt to them and start to feell almost comfortable in this rythm of falling and rising energies. I observe breath, and there are some correlation with mood, emotion, inhalation and exhalation.. So, thanx again.
