I want to clarify something about the back leg. Usually in standing postures if I understand correctly, we try to bring the load smoothly through the bones and not the muscles. However, in Santi, the way the back knee bends out I find the weight going through my quad and Bruce mentioned that we want the posture of least resistance in order to hold it for long periods. So I just want to make sure that a sore quad is an OK thing and just part of the process. I don’t feel anything adverse in the knee, its just the sore quad. However, I thought that the energy is supposed to flow smoothly from the kua straight to the foot without resistance and the soreness in the quad seems like resistance, no?

I wouldn’t have thought that getting sore quads is an okay thing. Without seeing how you stand it would be difficult to diagnose what could be altered, but perhaps try allowing the pelvis to roll under further for better alignment?
