    Hello there (from a fellow seeker).. not sure if the title “split” implies that more of msg was going to be entered in above, and was lost.. or if just hello.. -I hope your practice is going well (what is most interesting insight you’ve had in this Training Circle, from the lessons/practice?

    Hi,

    Just trying to get to grips with how this all works. I posted a piece a while back but then got an email saying I had generated a ticket- not sure where I go from here and where my writing went!

    Hi,

    I gave up a few months ago with trying to enter into a discussion about things coming up with practice , it’s not clear how to go about it. Anyhow, the general thing I was asking is if any one had any comments on the following. This is a brief version of the original piece. I basically don’t have a felt sense of the right side of my brain and body. The left cerebral hemisphere is here and feels dense and has sunlight shining in it and the right hemisphere is like eternity , an inky black eternity . It feels like it is not physical matter. When I close my eyes to meditate it is as if my left hemisphere is in this world and the right is in another world/ dimension. I notice when I practice the chi gung that it is much harder to feel the chi moving in the right side of my body as when my eyes are closed during practice the right side of my body is like that right cerebral hemisphere , it’s kind of not there , it is a vast space, almost like it has not joined me yet here . I have been aware of this for years now so it’s not a problem, I’m just curious if any one has any
    ideas . Thanks

    Hi Nicola, it unfortunate you felt frustrated entering a discussion here.. (there is a way you can click “help” or support ticket.. I’m not sure the names – vs “post a new forum topic” -which should start a discussion thread, as it seems you did, or reply to an existing thread, as I did here).

    -at times this discussion forum isn’t as lively, although I have made responses myself (not sure if any read or find value from- but there are a few others). Either way- hello
    ***********
    .. In terms of you mentioning, both through my work becoming more aware, as well activation (developing different involvements, say opening-closing KiaHe.. or turn-twisting, or lengthening of tissue out, or “lengthen-in” -vs shorten).. both these have resulted in the sensation of what is “inside me” (or better of “what” I am, what/how my body is, aspects of, how that is intermeshed and part-of my awareness.. and reverse also, how awareness is intermeshed and part of aspects of my phy)
    –I mention above, as I’ve had feelings that changed, but kept developing.. so different stages it has changed- most of all- the development as been more parts (and thus the whole) feels more alive (and sorrt of more-more.. bigger, even though not actually, vs smaller ~contracted stuck)
    feeling if one has a dominance of “eye” (look through a loop made with fingers (say index-fingertip touch thumb-tip- and have that circle around something on the floor ~look through.. and then (without moving hand or stepping) close one eye and look with the open eye through loop, and then switch (close/look with the others).. — what you discover may or may not illuminate.. feeling, tuning into the subtle distinction (and mixing) of visualizing, and tactile-touch sense.. and feeling your system (and watch and not let your system visually rep– I found that “mapping in 3d” requires visuallizing.. so a HsingI exer-drill, put your hand on the top of your head-forehead.. just relax your hand totally (its like a wet-rag stuck there,) and just gently let arm relax and move so palm slide/moves down face.. and as does so, just Let-go.. and thus is moving down, but don’t think “down” and don’t think of what is next forehead, to eyes to nose to mouth… just moving down (as gravity pulls in that direction) and what is next is what we feel…
    (often, for others even if not for yourself, feel down the body is really a picture, as need to keep track of where, and what they are called.. but if you feel top of head down.. just gravity sinking, don’t need to know what is next, as it is connected to the starting pt.. just need to know where and feel the first pt ~top, and then the rest is just what is touching it, what your awareness touches, as it sinks.. what you can or cant feel.)
    — starting the outside layer ~skin.. and then just deeper inward, like a dry sponge soaking water in.. (I find if you start “inside” is like a tube “looking” at the walls from inside- which triggers visualizing, and thus not just experiencing what is there.. which can be different any time feel, any day — how to get past the distorting illusions and just “see what is so” now.. is tricky (most of our exper is only partially sensed, maybe less than half.. much less.. and other part being mind-thoughts conparing-illustrating, that must bes)
    ==============
    Anyway above is just recommendations I’d give to someone who asked how to exper, those that are earts cert instructors may or may not post here for this.. and you seem to have been asking if anyone has ideas [so not a problem, so you feel confident is it right,. just wanting- if anyone has similar experiences? or if anyone has explanations about it? – I’ve found, over time, that I realize there is the choice- either I can learn about how one idea relates to other ideas, -or- I can do certain things which “may” lead to exper-insights, which I may not be able to explain, but I “know” (and that changes me.. and then that can change… etc) ]
    -I thus chose the later-second path (which means I found/find the former-first path, is a diversion and less my focus— even though I previously in my life, spent a great deal of thought-time on that former..), but others may respond there

    [ so I might seem to not be responding to your implied question, or your experience, which I appreciate and respect your description of internal experience, but there are different experiences. I might posit, perhaps you might question if your mind (subcon, or even your conscious thoughts) notice a difference between L&R in head, and mind went to Left and Right Hemispheres. and then the whole modern “Left hemisphere” limited, vs Right hemisphere non-logical.. etc.. and that mixed down the body (although in terms of wiring- the left side of the body is tied and mapped in the Right side of brain, and right side of body to the Left side of brain… so ..] but if you experienced what is there, vs labeling it with all the associated thoughts, that may or may not change what you see..

    =======
    What sort of actual chigung practice do you do? Standing holding a posture? a movement (like Egates Cloud hands, or a swing, or a full-set like Heaven&Earth), so you work on components, like turn-twisting, using different movements.. or perhaps just sitting practice? (inward awareness with/or without TaoBreathing work).. all above are what Bruce teaches, which may differ if your practice and experience is doing how another teacher has taught (even if the same ideas and related practice, the context can change things alot)

    Just hard to relate and respond, if not clear or guessing what your are doing (above is my making assumptions already- based on my exper and that you are working with a similar focus and using Bruce materials etc.) I hope that makes sense and helps-
    =======
    To expand a bit upon my first concept: .. “In terms of you mentioning, both through my work becoming more aware, as well activation (developing different involvements, say opening-closing KiaHe.. or ..”

    ( By the first- “work becoming more aware” I refer to as “looking” see-sense what is there- whether standing practice, or even sitting, or as a part of a movement.. although the movement splits awareness so less depth.. so just standing, in alignment to gravity, for minutes at a time and just looking– the feelings will arise, I’ve figure this or that, but sense those as things you notice also, and see what you “see” this time.. temptation of mind to stop or disconnect, or push through etc.. but just what is.. not even “see” or “feel” as that implies somethings need to happen, rather we are already connected to what is there, its just we layer on top of that, after we sense it.. other stuff, and only notice the end-result.. that added (wasted?:>) effort may, or may not, but related to some strange sensations of difference…)

    –anyway I hope this addresses some. (perhaps even now if you look/re-read the first paragraph you posted, the question/statement still can be confusing, maybe it seemed-seems self-evident to you what would be understood.. but it could be that when you are able to become clear of what you wonder.. into a question, that itself may clarify your thoughts, and thus your experience of “inside” yourself.
    -just as look/feel what is in our body, the same just look/feel what our question is- both can become clear (and realize they were clear all along.. just previously obscured).
    ====
    I’d be curious if any above might reveal something, or what you might have found that could show what I might have missed and be obscured in my thinking and thus this writing..

    luck in your practice

    Hi Nicola
    The only thing that comes to mind is what Bruce writes about in his meditation book the Great Stillness and what is called the ten thousand experiences.
    Basically, along the path of meditation, there is the possibility of a wide variety of experiences, ten thousand being a Taoist metaphor for infinite, that don’t mean anything in and of themselves but can be encountered along the path of meditation. They can be wonderful or unpleasant and everything in between.
    I think the key is not to be distracted or deterred by these experiences but just to stay present to them when or if they happen and keep practicing.

    Hello Nicola,

    I hope things are well- I don’t know if you returned to read the two responses to your question, or if you didn’t.. If you did discover something in your practice, others here might be interested to hear. -you wrote, in above:
    “I gave up a few months ago with trying to enter into a discussion about things coming up with practice , it’s not clear how to go about it. “
    I hope you might see these threads are a way to go about a discussion.. but maybe you found the FB group? (I don’t know about it- fewer on this area for a while.. but I never did see questions posted by you, with no response. I regret if that happened, as I know that feels not so great.. espec if just reaching out for connection-support as doing this “unusual” practice..per current-modern-pop-culture..)

    anyway- I hope whoever reads this is discovering and growing well in your practice (this ChiGung or whatever in daily-life) -cheers

    It just came to mind to wonder if you ever saw the post-comments, or if you found the answer you sought some-other way (perhaps you are on the FB part of the forum, or not here anymore). Either way- luck in your practice and devel
