Just wondering if anyone knows why its traditional in Bagua schools to commence (and finish?) your walking session walking counter clockwise.
Maybe this sprung from Tung’s school (I can understand a relevance to martial arts- most people being right-handed would choose to connect to the opponent left handed and hold the right hand in reserve- such as in Xing-I’s San Ti posture, or at least thats how I see it in my limited experience).
Or possibly there is a deeper energetic reason- its just that I’ve been noticing quite a difference between the feelings generated in my body whilst walking clockwise as opposed to counter clockwise circles, but I’ve been putting it down to my dodgy left knee!
Welcome any suggestions…………happy walking : )
PS the walking is doing wonders for my dodgy old knee- but its not quite there yet!
