AnonymousGuestGreetings,
I’ve been working on month 16 for nearly 2 months and I’m starting to feel like I could use some new material to work
with. I’m curious as to what others in the circle are now doing . I know there is the Tao te Ching program as well as Tao of letting go; which at some point I would like to do. I suppose one could just as easily continue to practice everything learned in the circle.I was actually thinking of working Bruce’s breathing CDs into my meditation practice.
Does that sound legal to everyone?
I tried having a separate breath practice with the CDs but I felt this resulted in either my qigong and meditation practice being skipped as result, due to time constraints. Also, Ive found that since having completed the TMC, my breath is longer, fuller, and consistent. This is something I really notice when doing the Breathing CDs. Have others that have worked through the CDs found that the bells are a bit too close together (8 and 10 second breaths)?
Should I just go with it or is it possible to modify the length according to ones own level of comfort? Thanks

AnonymousGuestHi, Kevin.
I can’t advise you about your own practice – I’m just a practitioner like you – but I’ve found the meditations in the Tao Te Ching group to be extremely cool and powerful. I also have worked through the breathing CDs over several years and continue to use them. I found the meditation circle to be a really good preparation for inner dissolving and I’ve been doing that regularly, following the instructions in the CD set, Tao of Letting Go book, and the Great Stillness. I got to a certain point where the bells were too close together on the breathing CDs and so created my own timed bells (I’m a musician and was able to create these with Logic Pro software). The truth of it that there is enough in all these materials for decades of practice and those of us without direct access to a senior instructor need to design our own practice carefully and creatively. That’s just my take on it.
Good luck with your practice.

AnonymousGuestThanks Matthew,
Ive yet to train with an instructor but I’m amazed with the resources available through Energy Arts and what I’ve been able to learn through them; not to mention connecting with other practicioners like yourself.I agree, I feel like there are decades of practice just through Bruce’s programs for people like myself who do not have access to an EA instructor.
Ive got an Enso pearl and find it very useful for setting incremental chimes for breathing. I record them on my iPhone and will add Bruce’s audio in there as well. This should keep me stoked for the winter at least!
Many Thanks,
Kevin -
