With a beginner’s mind I downloaded and checked the materials for the first month.of the meditation circle.

Using the inner voice or the ten fingers for counting to ten for ten breath seems easy for a single pointed mind but not for a distracted mind but the presence of Bruce is calming and he takes the noisy part by talking much.

He is telling looking for the gap between the in and outbreath for the counting method but presumably easier for the finger stretching method with less mind activity allowing more observation.

But the rhythm of the breath is so quick he is counting without guiding this meditation that the gap within the breath is hard to remark. Lesser than comfortable 4 seconds in and further 4 seconds for outbreath where the gap in the stream of air is naturally present but easy to be overlooked.

But it seems to be a question of relaxation avoiding each tension allowing to remark the gap even in the many words of Bruce like a normal everyday situation in your own breath with short breathing sips of the normal person.
