The Wise Man Breathes from His Feet is a phrase that Bruce used to quote way back when he was running retreats at the Anvil Ranch. Here’s a possible meaning.
jing phase – master the blood
Chi phase – master the CSF
shen phase – master the CNS
a) find the central chi and central channel
b) find the points on the central channel called the lower, middle, and upper tan tiens
c) practice yang opening and closing from tan tiens
d) put your mind on the tan tiens and allow EVERYTHING to come in
e) allow everything to come into the central channel starting from the feet, then chins, then thighs, then lower tan tien, then up the central channel, then the middle tan tien, then up the central channel, then into the upper tan tien
f) perform all of the palm changes while maintaining the condensing into the central channel and expansiveness
Note: part e should feel like a fluid is pouring in the central channel and being pulled up from the Earth. That isn’t what is happening, but that what it will feel like. Smooth this flow out so there are no gaps along the entire central channel. Also note that the surrounding area around the central channel should feel expansive.
