    Hello all,
I’m starting this topic as I have some certain things that occur when I train, in meditation mostly, and I wanted to know what they mean, and if they are a problem.

When doing the meditation this morning, I felt at first a sense of sort of steady beating/pulsing/swaying after the mental exercize of counting backwards and then feeling the mental energy just to try and become familiar with what it was like. Then when told to drop it to the dan tien, I had 2 distinct things happen, 1 was a sense of pressure in the head move down and create “gas” inside my body that had to come out, to be frank, both at the front and rear doors so to speak. Second and more important because this has happened repeatedly in the past, was a very strong tremor that though brief caused me to shake strong enough that my whole body reacted, but would pass quickly and I felt calmer afterwards. These tremors or shakes in particular are disconcerting, but again not new to me. What was new this time is I observed it starting from my head and moving downward and out, usually it starts from around my core or dan tien and moves out towards my hands and feet.

I don’t know what this is, but it happens often enough, and from what I do know I understand it as the body simply releasing blocked energy, but I’m not sure if this is accurate or not. If anyone knows, could you please maybe give me some clue? Should I be concerned? Again, it leaves me feeling better afterwards, but I’m not sure if I’m understanding it correctly or if it is even important.
    Thanks

I forgot to add one thing to this, the mental energy before the pressure felt like a ticking pulse, if that makes sense. Like a running high pace ticking pulse that doesn’t stop.

    Hi Mike,

Bruce often talks about how 99% of the experiances that you have in meditation don’t mean anything. They are just energy releasing or moving around in some way. Energy shifting can be experianced in a million different ways, but in the end all it means is that some energy moved around. It sounds like this is what you have experianced =)

It sounds like you are on the right track. In particular, the fact that you felt better afterwards is a great sign that you are heading in the right direction. If your practice is making you feel worse, then that might be a sign that you want to slow down or back off your practice. But that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

    Hope this helps,
    Janak

    Hi Janak,

You know what, that’s right. I recall him mentioning that before somewhere, don’t recall exactly but that’s true. Thanks for your input, and it’s good to know energy is moving at least generally in the right direction, and I’m feeling better for it. Qi work and Meditation have never made me feel bad, some things I’ve learned I certainly jive with much better than others, and I do tend to naturally gravitate towards practices I like and do those, leaving others behind. Guess this is just all part of the process, and from what you said is a good sign.
    Thanks
    -Mike
