    Hi Paul,
I have been practicing 24 forms and 42 forms. I am a slow learner as far as Taichi is concerned because I had started with meditations such as Osho Dynamic and kundalini meditations daily- as well as attending 3 day camps over a period of many years.

These continuous Meditations have brought to me ‘here and now’ situation more and more and I find it difficult to remember forms, the moves such as brushing the knee, single whip and parting the horse’s mane and so on. Remembering the sequence from memory and doing it makes me slow as I tend to forget memory based learning.

As a result, I am the slowest learner in my class. Sometimes this causes more issues because, I tend to compare myself with others who do their forms better. So tension builds up in my system for being slow….
Somehow, persistently I have been doing neigung breathing in the morning and qigong in the evenings which helped to do forms better.

But joining this 5-keys program has given me tremendous boost as I can recognize many of the movements such as shifting weights and arm movements are the basic building blocks of the fluid movements in forms. I have started doing these exercises with a lot enthusiasm and I am confident of improving my forms as well!

I feel so energized doing these exercises and to be frank, I have not started the full set of exercises from week 1 to week 4. Once I do these routines regularly, I am sure to improve everything that I do in life!
Thanks a lot Paul for your amazing program.
I have one general question. That is: Is it true that doing weight lifting is counter productive to Taichi as the chi energy will be blocked in arms and/or legs. Kindly throw some light on this query.
    Thanks in advance,
    In gratitude,
    sundar

I’m glad the programme is working for you. As for lifting
weights, this activity uses muscular contractions to build muscle mass and body
strength which, if practised regularly, will block all natural functions of the
body to some degree, including organ function and circulation of blood,
interstitial fluid and qi. The heavier the weight used, the more negative the
impact. Therefore, it is not recommended to go down this path if your goal is
to become healthier, relaxed and more alive. However, for some body types and
people who’ve reached a high level in their internal arts practice, some work
with weights can make them stronger without negatively impacting the body. This
is a fine-tuning process that is generally used for martial arts and definitely
not done in the early years of training.
