One of the best sources for learning something about stillness and emptiness comes from a surprising source — “The Strings of the Tao”. I’ve been listening to the CD over and over as I practice. If you’ve never heard Bruce chant in person, the CD is well worth owning. Between the Taoist liturgies, Bruce talks about some of the more mysterious aspects of the I Ching and Taoist thought. I don’t think it will make any sense without a solid background in the energy arts system that Bruce teaches, but if you have that, there are some topics I’ve never heard Bruce speak to in any other forum.
Here are a few of the major topics in the commentary between the liturgies.
FInding internal space.
Internal alignments.
Balance: the smooth movement of yin to yang and yang to yin, emptiness, compassion.
Yin & Yang and the Tai Chi space.
Movement is stillness. Stillness is movement.
Form is Emptiness. Emptiness is form.
Stillness and chaos.
Compassion.
