I’ve been concentrating on the Water Palm in my Bagua practice. I particularly like this palm change because it helps me access the fluids in the bones and spinal column. I just wanted to remember that as you get better, spiraling becomes more important and begins transitioning into the Mountain Palm Change where wuji is contained by the spiral. In the Water Palm Change, the field is contained in a simpler way in a more cylindrical pattern. As you get better, spiraling adds complimentary opposites that help maintain the sense of Water even when you are picking up the leg (as in the Mountain Palm Change) to kick or stomp. That’s how you can grow from the spine while maintaining full power in such a difficult position.
