AnonymousGuestI have been doing week 4 four about aweek and a half, the counting is becoming easier getting what i think is the proper ‘feeling ‘seems a lot harder. The guided session is hard to follow if your focusing on your third eye and bruce is talking eyes or ears?gonna try and move on to month 2 while starting out with the previous month and go in stages and adding a little more time to the session.guess if it was easy everyone would do it!

AnonymousGuestI started late with this program, lost about 10 days, and am just now starting Week 3. Not sure if keeping the eyes open during meditation is ok, but that’s what I do – a soft focus straight ahead, about 45 degrees up from the floor. The countdown to distraction for me is that my eyes drift slightly to the left. I notice it about half the time. The other half of the time, I notice the distracting thought, and when that happens I’m always looking slightly to the left. I expect there are other preludes to distraction that I’ll discover.

AnonymousGuestHi, Holly. Keeping the eyes open during meditation is the preferable way, at least that is what I have heard Bruce say before. He does not specify for this course, so I assume it’s up to the individual. I am doing it with my eyes open, since I’ve been meditating for about 14 years, and have had a hard time trying to change that habit, from closed to open. So I figured I should just start this course with them open, and if I just do it from the beginning it will be easier for me to break the habit.
But this may be very difficult for anyone who’s a beginner. My personal feeling is that anything is better than getting frustrated and quitting, so if it seems too hard for anyone to do this material with eyes open, it’s probably okay to close them. Again, since Bruce hasn’t commented one way or the other, this is just my personal opinion.
Good observation with the eyes moving to the left! Interesting. I don’t think anyone needs to worry about being behind the rest of the group, it seems like everyone is starting at different times. Happy practicing!
