I am very much looking forward to this program, its contents, and what it can do. I have background in some of this material, but not other material. It will be interesting to see both new material and also familiar material but perhaps in a different light.

Thank you for providing a more accessible and basic introduction that can lead to the more complex material available.

    Sincerely,
    -Scott

    Hi Everybody,

As of tomorrow, I’ll start monitoring the forum *once a week* for the next 10 weeks, after which time you’re welcome to post questions on my blog, where I monitor questions year-round.

I will attempt to answer all reasonable, unanswered questions that have been posted since the last launch and subsequent 10-week monitoring period. This exercise is particularly for the instructors, so they can build their knowledge base about how to make specific adjustments to nei gong based on personal needs. If I don’t respond, it means I don’t feel I have anything further to add to current discussions.

The best advice I could offer in this moment is to cycle through the 10 weeks and have a look-see, then go back and do the lessons in your own time. Results are what counts, not external markers of success!

    Hi Paul,
I am so happy to have enrolled for this course.

I congratulate myself for taking this significant decision in my life.

I started practicing the breathing, kwa squats and sinking chi.

I feel tremendously focused in the day to day activities as result of these practices.

Your delivery of the program is awesome, clear and cool.

    Thanks and regards

To date, I have periods of feeling more energy and other times tired and sluggish, which in your recent week 5 E-mail is normal.

    Questions:

I am practicing standing and the circling exercises twice daily, which are generating Chi. Some days I feel tired and sluggish and other days my body/mind becomes re-energized for various time periods. After these time periods my body reverts to my baseline of chronic fatigue.

When Chi is generated and gathered where does it go in the mind/body? Does Chi automatically become stored in the Dan Tan? In standing the arms are placed on the sides the body – does this allow greater Chi circulation throughout the entire body? Can the hands be placed on the lower Dan Tan when concluding standing to assist in storing Chi energy or just let the Chi go where it needs to go? Can Chi from the surrounding environment when practicing have a positive or negative effect on the mind/body?

    Thank you

Yes, the hands are at the side of the body with armpits
slightly open and without any muscular tension to aid qi circulation. You can
place the hands on the lower tantien at the end of a practice session to assist
the storing of qi in the lower tantien, but, ultimately, it is the mind
connecting to the tantien that allows you to store qi there. Sometimes, when it
feels right, you can let the qi go where it wants to go, but the standard
method (after practice) is to store qi in the lower tantien. To achieve this,
the first step is for your mind to become comfortable settling in the lower
tantien and staying calm while there, otherwise you won’t be able to be successfully
    store qi there.

Where environmental energy is concerned, almost all natural
locations on the Earth are extremely positive for the human mind-body-qi
    matrix.

I appreciate the opportunity to be able to ask questions and would like to thank you for taking the time to respond. During my practice I will strive to become comfortable and calm with my mind in the lower tantien.

Do you have any recommended techniques or suggested training materials on this subject (lower tantien storage of qi)?

    Thank you.

To stabilise the mind in the lower tantien, begin with
standing and put your attention on the crown of your head. Slowly drop your
awareness down through your body until you arrive at the lower tantien. Keep
your mind there. If it wonders, gently bring it back to the lower tantien. If
you gap out for a long period of time, go back to your crown and repeat.

Until your mind can become continuously stabile in the lower
tantien for at least a few minutes, your ability to store qi will be very
minimal. So this is the first step.

    Good luck!

    Hi Paul!

Many thanks for creating this great course!

I have a little background in tai chi and I hope the 5 keys help me with the practice.

So far I’m enjoying the practice. I’m struggling a little bit in the standing practices (never attempted before) and the going up in the kwa squat, but everything else feels fine for now.

However, I find the pace of the course a little too fast (for me at least !!). Currently I’m practicing twice slower. I feel more confortable with this. So, This is my week 8 but I’m still in the week 4 of the practice. Is this advisable? Can I have my own rhythm? Or is the course intended to be completed always in ten weeks?

Anyway, thanks in advance for your response,

    Isabel.
