AnonymousGuestThere isn’t a lot of consistency for which side you start each movement on. It’s possible that which side you start on doesn’t matter, though that has implications for the transitions.
It’s certainly possible that I’ve made some errors in recording directions, but I can’t belief I’ve made so many that there’s actually one consistent list that’s the same for every version I’ve checked.
This is from the illustrations in book 1.
1. Left hand is first up
2. Left hand is first up
3. Right leg is forward
4. Right hand pushes first

the feet and around the tips of the toes, then reversing direction and
going up the legs. The videos have fingers pointing down and then coming
back up– no going around the feet.January 20, 2018 at 8:09 pm #136755
AnonymousGuestHi Nancy,
Bill Ryan in Instruction 4, Week 8,
while making the transistion from Tiger Pouncing (Movement 5) to Pierce Heaven and Earth ( Movement 6)
forms Sword Fingers at the belly area,
moves left hand to the Left Line of the body and right hand to the Right Line of the body simultaneously
and then
you pick whatever hand you want to go up and move the other down—
Your Choice. So here it doesn’t matter,
I think we learn a lot by comparing how different players do the same movement.
I never see players do exactly the same thing.
As an instructor (not certified in anything) I remind co-players that my practice is a work-in-progress
and that I may change something next time.Frustrating, yes.
Reality, yes.
Perfect, no.
Better than the previous try? Hopefully.Bill Ryan has a similar attitude.
Just try your best.cheers
Bob

AnonymousGuestThe left body and right body is about the yin and yang predominants.Starting from one side or the other indicate whether a person is in a yin or yang state. Maybe it can influence the ultimate yin/ yang in the body. So far nobody pay attention to those detail. It is not significant.
Do you notice that in pratically all qiqong set nobody started by by saying moves from the right or left but I notice that somehow everybody generally started to move their qi gong set from the same side. -
