    Hi

I noticed only Bagua got an intermediate video this month?
Would that mean Xingyi is the same as Bagua in this aspect or is the same as circling hands?
(Meaning there is no Xingyi speciality)

    Thanks
    Peter

If you have the Hsing-I Mastery Program, Disc 3 Chapter 2 is a great place to get a crash course in the basics. Bruce even shows how the opening and closing affects his blood flow in the chapter.

Bob, At 13 minutes in note how Bruce creates the stretch for the close and the stretch for the opening. Exactly consistent with the material I sent you. Bruce doesn’t describe the more sophisticated version in that segment. I’m thinking it is possible that technique is unique to Bagua.

All of the opening and closings are equally applicable to Hsing-I. IMO, a more sophisticated version of opening and closings is the basis of Hsing-I’s power. So far, Bruce has only presented the kindergarten version of opening and closing.

    James,
I don’t have access to the HMP.
I would think that the principles of opening and closing joints applies to all energy arts.

Another way you can practice this in Hsing-I is to use the fists as a progression working deeper into the body ultimately back into the organs.

So, Pi Chuan emphasizes the opening and closing in the hand. Tsuan Chuan adds and emphasizes the opening and closing of the elbow. Beng Chuan adds and emphasizes the shoulder. Pao Chuan adds and emphasizes the ribs. Notice how the design of the movement of Pao Chuan is exceptional for getting all parts of the ribs including the sternum, sides, and back. In Heng Chuan, you are going to add the crosses, legs, and really get to the opening and closing of the organs, but you can practice this by breaking it down further over time as well.
