    First, I’d like to say “thank you” for a wonderful course! For my daily practice, I’m continuing to work thru the various lessons in this course, as it seems like there’s so much to be learned. Before this, I’ve been working on the Wu Style Short Form.

    My question is “what’s next?” I’ve spent time becoming familiar with the different practices between tai chi and qi gong, but I’ve never really been sure as to what I should move on to. Considering that I’ve already been working with Wu Style Tai Chi, would you recommend something like Dragon & Tiger? Or maybe another form?

    Thanks,
    James

    James,
    For what it is worth (I am a novice), I am moving on to Bill Ryan’s Dragon and Tiger. I think (after the 5 Keys) this is the best thing to pursue after that.

    James, The Five Keys will always be a part of your practice. Keep cycling through the exercises, refining and honing your skill, and deepening internal content. Look to apply all that you learn to your tai chi form. Everything in qi gong is in tai chi and bagua. My teacher has always taught me that doing a little well is much better than doing a lot poorly. This was the whole reason behind the construction of the Five Keys programme. Here, you get essential components of DT, EG and HE. Eventually, if you continue practising for years, you will want to learn the entirety of these fundamental sets.

    Excellent! I’ve learned so much from go back thru a second round with these. I’ve listened to several of your interviews with Dan Kleiman where you discuss how the whole system fits together. Working thru the Five Keys, then going back and working on Wu Short Form, I feel like I’m starting to get some insights into the bigger picture. Thanks again!

    I think these are short hand for qigong sets Dragon and Tiger, Energy Gates, and Heaven and Earth.

    DT = Dragon & Tiger
    EG = Energy Gates
    HE = Heaven & Earth
