Hi:
Can the breathing and sinking qi portion of Energy Gate materials be incorporated into my santi practice? Or are they applicable to the normal standing posture?

Yes, Energy Gates teaches part of the 16 Neigong (http://www.energyarts.com/sixteen-neigong) and they are present in all of the internal martial arts.
Paul Cavel has a good video on You Tube – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDhyoNq-Y2A – where he explains how the 5 core neigong sets teach aspects of the 16 neigong.
