    Hi Paul,

During whole body breathing we make some changes to our stance. For example When we breathe into the upper back we spread our shoulder blades and open up the armpits. This leaves us with the thumbs touching our thighs but not our index fingers.

Once we get the breathing “going” do we then drop back into our normal stance (thumbs & fingers on thighs) or do we keep this new stance while we are practising our breathing and then revert to our normal stance once we start sinking and disolving chi, and therefore our thumbs an index fingers will once again will be touching our thighs?

    Thanks,
    Adam

If you can maintain the opening in the back without creating tension in the back, neck, shoulders or arms, keep the slightly wider, extended shoulder blades throughout.
