AnonymousGuestCan someone point to guidance on best practices when ending the standing meditation? I think of arm swings from Opening the Gates. Others have suggested lying down to settle the chi, Dragon and Tiger, walking, form practice. Is there guidance from Bruce on this? Thanks.

AnonymousGuestHi Joseph,
The standing practice is a complete practice in itself. Once you’re finished, make sure you’re grounded and your energy is flowing, then move on to whatever you’re going to do next in your life, whether it’s work, sleep, study, etc. Try to maintain the connectivity and awareness that you have have from your practice so that you fully integrate everything you’re learning and bring it into your daily life.
As for adding practices, if you’re doing Energy Gates, after standing and dissolving, go through the sequence: cloud hands, 3 swings, and spine stretch. It’s designed to be done in that order. Of course, if you’re training on something like a swing, do that first and then go through the sequence.
With Dragon and Tiger, Bruce always says that if your standing practice is long, stand first and then do Dragon and Tiger. If you stand for only a short time, do Dragon and Tiger first and then stand. Hope that helps,
Dejota
