New Students Welcome!

Breathing well is vitally important to your health. Daoists have always seen the connection between the breath and your qi. The breath can be seen as the gateway to unlocking the mind, body, and beyond.

No other health practice is capable of producing such dramatic and life-changing results for the amount of effort put in. The conscious practice of learning to breathe with your entire body in a relaxed, circular manner without holding your breath has profound physical, mental, and spiritual benefits.

Breathing with the whole body has been used for millennia to enhance the ability to dissolve and release energy blockages in the mind/body, enhancing well-being and spiritual awareness. Breathing has both internal and external aspects. The Friday of this course will focus on the external, while the weekend will focus on the internal aspects of how you’re moving qi through the body while breathing.

What You Will Learn

This course will be broken into two parts: an introduction to Daoist Breathing and a deeper dive into Daoist Breathing and Meditation.

Friday will focus on the fundamentals of Daoist Breathing; a valuable longevity practice that can be done on its own or used within any of the practices in the Energy Arts system to enhance their benefits. This unique style of Daoist breathing is done in a way that massages, energizes, and strengthens the internal organs while increasing the circulation of blood and qi throughout the body. Energized internal organs lead to good health, increased vitality, and a balanced sense of well-being. The purpose of Friday is to make sure you can feel and breathe into your body and each of your internal organs separately which will help you get the most out of Saturday and Sunday’s classes.

Saturday and Sunday will be dedicated to integrating Daoist Breathing into meditation. Focusing on the breath can be used to access deeper aspects of your being; to soften and unwind stuck patterns of energetic, emotional, and mental tensions held within. Modern life with its ubiquitous entanglement in technology is plagued by psychological stress and mental tension.  Breathwork helps to target emotional blockages that can be cleared out and dissolved in meditation; opening the psyche to a freer and more expansive state of spiritual awareness and well-being. Daoist Internal Breathing can also increase both the speed and power of your martial arts techniques.

Master Bruce Frantzis

Bruce Frantzis is a recognized Daoist Lineage Master and the Founder of Energy Arts. He trained for over a decade and a half in China, India, and Japan and worked extensively as a qigong tuina doctor. For more than 50 years he has studied and taught the martial, healing, and spiritual practices of ancient China. He teaches qigong, meditation, and tai chi (and the related arts of baguazhang and xingyi) and has authored more than a dozen books on these subjects. The heart of his tradition is the cultivation of Qi (chi), the internal energy that connects the mind, body, and spirit to the underlying consciousness of the universe (Dao).

The Benefits of Attending In-Person

In-person attendance is always recommended. Bruce and Craig respond directly to those they see practicing in the room and adjust accordingly. The teachings are transmission-based and offered in a sealed space – embodying the information is most possible in-person.

  • Hands-on adjustments from Bruce and his Sr. Instructors.
  • Priority during Q and A sessions.
