I noticed in Chapter 4 of the Tao Te Ching lesson Bruce didn’t say it in Chinese… I remember him saying in Chptr 1 that when it’s said in Chinese it’s meant to penetrate the being of a person… I liked it and I get it… He did it for Chptr 2 and 3 as well but not for four and I was kinda bummed…. I was hoping I would be able to hear him recite each of the chapters at the begining of each lesson… A nice way to start the lesson…

    Hi All!

int the first chapter (i’ve just started the TTC program…) it was one of the most impressive experience to hear a part of the original chinese version of the text. It really penetrates, as Bruce said.

I hope so that we will hear Bruce recite each of the chapters in original chinese at the beginning of the chapter and maybe before the meditation part to prepare and tune our inner being to meditation.

Or maybe it could be a distinct audio material, i think many of us are interested in this kind of teaching!

I, too, found the reading of the chapter in Chinese very powerful. It has been a disappointment that Bruce was not able to do that in the later chapters. A separate audio would be fine but hearing it with the commentary and practice did truly penetrate.

Yep, I’ll jump on the bandwagon here. The verse that Bruce read in Mandarin was deeply penetrating.

It reminded me of the Monthly Meditation teaching that focused on using sound, specifically, the vibrational origin and quality of sound, which is also deeply penetrating.

If I could make a wish here, it’d be to have the entire Tao Te Ching read as only BKF can.
Besides, might we not eventually benefit from the mind to mind transmission or quality of hearing it recited in such a way?
