The softly imploding old television screens going inward instead of explosively outward sems to be the analogon. Or the cosmic dark holes with anti materia reducing stars to a miminum extinguishing them.

This space and time losing process goes not into space but into the microcosmical infinitely but observable small whereas the outer dissolving macrocosmical process losing in last respect all frontiers and sharp lines as the task in opening the energy gates goes into the infinitely big.

The paradox is that both processes meet in last respect and are in the unity of all the same. The old hermetic and mystic saying as above so below describes this meeting of macro and microcosmos.

Though the beginners form for our outward orientation outer dissolving may also have similar proceses and recognition with open eyes like inner disolving of closed eyes though the beginner needs closed eyes for remarking e.g.pictures of events stored in the body also of outward processes.

    Hi Matthew,

When I go deeper into meditation, I feel as though a feeling of spaciousness that comes when my alignments and breath are truly optimal. At this point, I sometimes experience what I would describe as something like the feeling you get when you are about to “nod off” to sleep and then are suddenly woken up. When I say nodding off to sleep its as if I’m becoming even more aware and more present that I am becoming rather than that of “falling asleep”. I wonder if i was to “nodd off” would this lead to a deeper meditative state-it sure feels that way.
Does that metaphor make sense? I’m wondering if perhaps anyone has had a similar experience or if this sounds like the “witnessing mind” or the “mind stream”. I fully realize that trying to describe meditative experiences can be a “slippery slope” so no expectations expected:)

I would say the term mindstream or other spiritual terms such as pure awareness are misleading, in that there is a sense of embodiment on all levels as much or more than a head oriented awareness.

To reply to the original question, I’ve realized after some time that I was searching for a special object somewhere, a particular thing even though I wasn’t aware of it. One practice that helped me was something called Open Focus by a Dr. Fehmi which helped me open up to a more inclusive and spacious awareness that was unattached or seeking any particular object of experience.
