    I just wanted to post, and see if any else agree, and wish to express about, the last third of the video in the Intermed section of Standing.. .It is called “review of the posture” (and I thought some that might be just doing the beginner material might not view the intermed… but the last third or so of this Video #8 is about HowTo approach the practice- Bruce laying out the mind-set approach (He’s mentioned bits of that before, but more so than the details or instruction- the perspective of how to see “growing” into it….)

    anyway- just to comment on that. (any other aspects/angles stick out to others that I may not have seen/appreciated?) cheers

    I found this last third of the second video incredibly helpful regarding the attitude to bring to practice ‘The growing” into it rather than trying to ‘do’ it, somehow clarifies intent and acceptance of what is actually happening rather that what I want to be happening. It sort of takes the pressure off achievement, as well as helping accept distraction/focus oscillation. With regard to the videos, the more I return to listen, after practice, the more bits make sense and the more I find to absorb.

    This kind of learning is the most synthetic there is- you have to apply yourself to the components, but not get stuck in separate thoughts/actions training ‘repetitions’- the video really explained in that last third-something that I was struggling with in relation to multiple points of focus and allowing attention to be on both the higher areas of focus such as the head simultaneously with lower sense of movement- to the toes/soles of the feet, and as he explains simultaneous with the fingertips and ultimately connecting with the L Dantien and crown as an integrated whole body internal movement. It really made clear to me the continual nature of grounding. Great stuff.

    The points on the leg are a challenge, but after longer periods standing- very evident. if I allow myself to ‘grow into them’ rather than try to go through them to let energy flow.

    As with all this, I find it one day and lose it the next…name it and it goes away, but the usefulness of ‘growing’ is that something else takes it’s place .

    I don’t think I have added much to what you said, but I thought it worth acknowledging what you pointed out.

    regards

    Thx so much for the ack, and I’m glad my mention gave value (not only hoping to point some people to check that out, who may have not viewed/listened or skipped…
    but even those who did, even more than once, if see this thread, might consider a re-listen at later times.. as more sinks in (sinking.. grounding =roots which then grow-up-from);

    -as you mention, I too have found more try and put into practice, struggle (adjusts and integs many parts, or doesn’t and thus highlights ‘gaps’), then review..and ‘see’ more. (having heard even that concept from him, a “while” back.. and yet, layers to that metaphor/phrasing, mu or Wood-element ‘grows’…)

    I just keep reminding myself (and others that might listen) of the principle that one adjusts as one practices (ie. one physically, as well as mentally, changes- literally, new neural-pathways, both in brain-spine, but in muscle-spindles, and fascial-sensory networks… as they develop, similar- though different from- how muscles “grow-develop” when weight-lifting.. from different stimulus.. like 70% (or less) standing, and try and feel.. (if push it, creates buzz-static in nerves which is like not letting someone sleep.. after a week with not really sleeping, one’s recovery/growth isn’t really happening.. likewise being at-ease, one is literally being re-wired and upgraded.. over time (it push it- feels good, but that is actually cuz this ‘re-wiring feels strange.. keep it as it is..) but if you change, then you will feel not only ‘more’ but differently..
    literally you will see/feel in a way you can’t guess now (like a sprouting seed (the little green tendril poking out of the ground) becomes a woody-sapling like plant (quite a change) and then a tree (or bush, or garden-flowers, or produce type.. whatever it becomes)..
    _________
    a big oak hardly guess able from that like sprout? (especially can the sprout imagine this other state- think not so-much of the size of the tree, just the different-nature.. how changed.. almost like a caterpillar-butterfly.. (butterfly not a caterpillar with wings.. heck butterflies sip pollen-nectar and don’t eat leaves, vs caterpillars chomping away..) often used metaphor, but often hearing people talk about neigung, and how long one has been practicing (a few months, even a year),,, and the expectation ‘can’ slip in that having done this I’ll only be better at doing what I’m doing now, OR if I change somehow, that I can guess what it will be like, what it will feel like.. (perhaps, but if you “open” your mind- perhaps it might surprise you with what arises/reveals).

    just a thought.. cheers
