A key principle of Taiji is sticking and follow. It is relatively easy to do in push hand. It gets very challenging in fighting when the speed is really fast. The questions are:
    1. How to train/improve the capability of sticking and follow under high speed movement?
    2. How to properly apply the principle in fighting? This also includes how to properly intercept an incoming punch/kick.

    Thanks a lot.

I’d also be interested in hearing the answer to this question.

I’d love to hear Bruce talk about the journey from first learning how to stick at slow speed, all the way up to the point where he could do it at combat speed.

What did the progression in skill look like? What was his first experience with sticking at combat speed? I assume the first time he tried to stick at combat speed, it didn’t work. How then did he realize what was missing/”not good enough” and how did he tackle the task of improving whatever was missing?

Their are many people that practice push hands for years and years but can’t stick at combat speeds. What are they doing wrong? What is the difference between them and someone who successfully attains the ability to do it at combat speed.
