AnonymousGuestWell, I thought I would start an introductions thread. I figure I was pretty close to being the first person to sign up, as I pounced on the e-mail as soon as it appeared in my inbox! I’d been waiting for it all day. I live in Maine, in the western mountains, and I’ve been studying with Bruce for 17 years now. It’s been an incredible journey, and I can’t wait to dig into this new course!

AnonymousGuestGood idea Catherine. I live in the UK near Manchester, and I’ve been studying directly and indirectly with Bruce for >> 10 years, although I used to read his articles in martial arts magazines in the late 70s and 80s! Huge thanks to Bruce and all at Energy Arts, it’s great that Bruce is reaching out so effectively to make his teaching and knowhow so very accessible via the Internet.

AnonymousGuestI had to mull over the monthly price for a day or so, but then realized that it is a heck of a bargain if I actually follow through and do the work
I am in South San Francisco, and am pretty much a newbie (4 years in formal Tai Chi and a lot of personal research in Taoist thought and practice). I am also taking on Hsing I via the master course and that has just been a phenomenal experience.

AnonymousGuestCatherine I bet I was a close second re signing up. I live in Oklahoma…not exactly your “mecca” for this type of training.
While I have been in and around the martial arts sine 1959, I’ve only been with Bruce for about a year. His training is, for me, the best I’ve ever seen, and done. I like having the structure this program proves, and, for sure I can’t complain about nothing to do. Good luck to you.March 31, 2014 at 2:44 am #134049

AnonymousGuestHey Christopher,
See what you can do to get Man United back on track. I was at old trofford a few years back when Becks was still hot and I sure hate to see them loosing. Glad to see you on the course.

AnonymousGuestHi there my name is Morgan Olson
I’m originally from Kansas but have lived in Portland Oregon for 5 years now. I’ve been reading energy arts books ever since i was loaned a copy of power of internal martial arts while studying Kung fu in China. It helped me see some of the BS I had started to believe about what was taught and what turned out to be some really cool stuff. That was 14 years ago now and I am super excited about this because I can see this is going to help connect a bunch of random elements i’ve practiced for years.
I did the Tai Chi Mastery program and really changed how I practice and integrate movements I used to know into sparing without gaping out.
I hope to get to the root of a lot of mental anguish that is keeping me from realizing my dreams and with plenty of practice and this series I hope to get a little bit closer.

AnonymousGuestHello everybody,
My name is Karsten and I live in Denmark, just outside Copenhagen. I am new to Energy Arts as I have only participated in the 5 Keys online course last fall. Otherwise, I have been studying Yang style with a long term student of Tung Kai Ying for the last 4 years and for the last year also with a student of Sam Tam and Wee Kee Jin. Apart from the weekly classes with my two teachers I have also been fortunate to attend several workshops with both Tung and Sam Tam.
In my teens (a long time ago) I practised JKA Shotokan Karate and while I lived in Lancaster, UK, Wing Chun under Samuel Kwok and Lee Style Taijiquan.
I am really looking forward to explore the Energy Arts practice together withy you all.
Best regards,
KarstenApril 8, 2014 at 10:47 pm #134056
AnonymousGuestHello, all.
I see many names I know and many new ones. I’ve been lucky to live in Boston where there are many students of Bruce’s and where there;s a good school to study, Brookline Tai Chi. I didn’t really realize it until I read some of the comments here, but i started studying the EA system in 2001 and have kept at it since then. Before then, I had studied with a disciple of a Yang style lineage holder since 1987. I think this is the real deal and Bruce is opening up about a lot of stuff that he hasn’t really talked much about in the past, at least in the workshops of his I’ve attended.
Anyway, hello everybody and have fun with the practices.

AnonymousGuestHello! I live in Connecticut. I’ve been practicing for roughly 3 years now. I dabbled in a wide range of systems when I first started out, but the way Bruce explains things made the most sense to me, and when I did what he said I got results, so now I practice nearly all Energy Arts stuff. It’s a long term goal to learn the entire system.
At the moment I practice Hsing I, Bagua, and sitting meditation. Also in the process of learning the Wu short form.
My main goal with this course is to really improve my breathing, since I think that will be key to getting rid of these blockages that are annoying me, as well as deepening my meditation practice.

AnonymousGuestThanks for starting the thread. I just read the email from Bruce asking folks to introduce themselves and was wondering how to do that. I’ve read several of his books and have completed the online trainings of 5 Keys and Dragon and Tiger. We are in the southern Appalachians. I’ve dabbled in tai chi and qigong for several years and almost a lifetime of yoga. As we are in a very rural area, I really appreciate the opportunity to have this training online.
