Rest & Renewal: The Water Element of Winter

November 13, 2021 - November 14, 2021

Healing Burnout…Gathering Qi

In this weekend workshop, Master Bruce Frantzis will be using Taoist qigong, taichi, and meditation techniques (both seated and moving) to teach you how to merge with the qualities of the Water Element to…

  • Bounce back from physical and emotional exhaustion and fatigue
  • Gather energy to recharge your body and mind (lower tantien practices)
  • Avoid seasonal depression and use the winter season as a time of renewal
  • Connect with the Water Element to generate stillness in meditation
  • Incorporate effortless ease and flow into your life and practice

Who hasn’t experienced some type of burnout? You probably already know what it’s like having the feeling of trying to keep life moving forward when your internal fuel tank is running on “empty.”

It’s practically a habit to ignore the fatigue signaling the need for rest and renewal. Most of us tend to bear down and “push through” until our nerves are shot and every small struggle starts to feel all-encompassing and overwhelming.

In contrast, Taoists have always been masters of energy management…how to build it, store it, and use it to feel fully alive, healthy, active, and strong. This knowledge is rooted in the observation of the natural world and its cycles, specifically how those cycles affect us both internally and externally.

Winter is the time of the Water Element, a season of completion, preparing the ground for the growth and activity of spring.

But if that rest and storing up of energy never happens, the ability to grow and thrive in the coming year’s cycle is compromised.

Your body and mind mirror these natural rhythms. Without regular periods of rest and renewal, our ability to grow and adapt is crippled.

In this workshop, you will learn energetic techniques that reverse this kind of exhaustion and bring you back into better harmony within your internal and external life cycles.

These Water Element qigong and meditation practices have the most powerful effects when practiced in the winter. They can radically benefit the vitality of your body, the downward flow and absorption of qi, increase emotional resiliency to mitigate seasonal depression, enhance nervous system strength and function, plus heighten awareness, mental clarity, and intuitive capacity.

The cumulative result of employing these practices is a strong balancing effect that helps you to shed stress, avoid burning out, and maintain a natural sense of creativity, energy, and flow.

Join us for some R&R in Longmont, CO to experience a wonderful weekend full of learning and good qi! Can’t make it in-person? Virtual-only attendance will be opening soon.
