How to Recertify in the New 8-Level System

Hello Energy Gates, Dragon and Tiger, and Heaven and Earth certified instructors,

This is the Energy Arts Team on behalf of Bruce here.

In 2023 Bruce sent you an email outlining his plans for implementing the new 8-Level system of instructor certification.

If you did not receive it, or you no longer have it, please contact support@energyarts.com to have it resent to you. It contains important information.

Current Dragon and Tiger, Energy Gates, and Heaven and Earth certified instructors were requested recertify in the new system by October 31, 2023. If you have not done so, you are still eligible to recertify and we hope you will do so because we very much value your participation and experience as an Energy Arts instructor! 

Please take the following steps to recertify:

For each subject for which you wish to recertify, read these PDF documents that lay out certification criteria for the 8 levels of that subject:

Energy Gates Qigong 8-Level Certification Criteria

Read the specifications we’ve included as an addendum at the bottom of this email to determine which levels you are eligible to recertify for. Then assess which of those levels you feel confident you can demonstrate. If you’re not sure between two or more levels, you can sort that out during your recertification assessment.

To schedule an assessment, either in-person or online, contact one of Bruce’s Instructor Certifiers:

Most assessments will take 30 minutes to complete, which will include:

• 15 minutes for one of them to observe your standing and/or movements, and 
• 15 minutes for them to tell you: a) the level you achieved; b) what you need to improve in order to get to the next level; and c) any key practice suggestions they can offer.

 

If you are eligible for and wish to be assessed for Energy Gates Levels 4, 5 or 6, those assessments will take 45 minutes to complete, which will include an additional 15 minutes for them to observe you.

The fee for most assessments will be $75. The fee for Energy Gates Levels 4, 5 or 6 assessments will be $110. 

If you are a Senior Instructor, there will be no fee.

You may schedule up to 3 assessments back to back. 

Once you recertify in the new system, you may come back anytime to one of the Instructor Certifiers for an assessment of whether you’ve met the criteria to upgrade to a higher level for which you are eligible.

P.S. Please note that as we work with and have discussions with all of you about the new 8-Level system, we’ll find that minor changes will need to be made to the language of the criteria specified for each level of each subject. The changes will be clarifications or elaborations of the requirements; no significant new criteria will be introduced. We will keep the most up-to-date version of the criteria on one of our webpages. When those pages are established, we’ll let you know.

 

ADDENDUM

What Levels are you eligible to recertify for?

Energy Gates Qigong Certifications*

• Current Level 1 – Can upgrade to a Level 2 or 3 in the new system. If you participated in the Level 2 or higher track of the Instructor Training that you attended, you are eligible to test for up to a Level 6.
• Current Level 2 – Can upgrade up to a Level 6 in the new system
• Instructor Certifiers will re-certify Levels 1-5 in the new system; if they observe that you meet the criteria for Level 6, you can schedule a test with Bruce (in-person only)

Dragon and Tiger Qigong Certifications*

• Current Level 1 – Can upgrade to a Level 2 or 3 in the new system. If you participated in the Level 2 or higher track of the Instructor Training that you attended, you are eligible to test for up to a Level 6.
• Current Level 2 – Can upgrade up to a Level 6 in the new system
• Instructor Certifiers will re-certify Levels 1-6 in the new system

Heaven and Earth Qigong Certifications*

• Current Physical Movements – Can upgrade to a Level 1 to 6 in the new system. 
• Current Level 1 – Can upgrade to a Level 2 to 6 in the new system. If you participated in the Level 2 or higher track of the Instructor Training that you attended, you are eligible to test for up to a Level 7.
• Current Level 2 – Can upgrade to as high as a Level 7 in the new system
• Instructor Certifiers will re-certify Levels 1-6 in the new system; if they observe that you meet the criteria for Level 7, you can schedule a test with Bruce (in-person only)

 

* Important 

If you attended an Instructor Training in any of these subjects, participated fully in the Level 1 track and did not receive a certification, you are eligible to test for certification in the new system as follows: up to a Level 3 in Energy Gates and Dragon and Tiger Qigongs, or up to a Level 6 in Heaven and Earth Qigong.

Do you know anyone who does not currently hold certification in one of these three subjects but meets the criteria listed in the preceding paragraph? If so, they are eligible to test for certification in the new system. If they are successful, we’ll also ask that they demonstrate in some way their teaching skills prior to fully being certified.
