Feeling Beyond Your Finger Tips

June 30, 2023 - July 3, 2023

Daoist and Osteopathic Methods for Developing Perceptive Touch with Dr. Alexander Frantzis

In this four day workshop, at the behest of Master Frantzis, Dr Alex Frantzis will teach foundational principles shared between both osteopathy and Daoist qigong tui na. These principles will specifically enhance your ability for global palpation, or feeling through the body at touch.

This course is appropriate for hands-on therapists and medical professionals, as well as anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of healing touch.

One of the greatest skills a professional hands-on therapist can possess is using their touch to listen through the body and perceive areas with which they are not in direct physical contact.  Some individuals are born with an innate sensitivity that gives them this ability and are sometimes referred to as having “good hands.”

Yet this skill can also be taught and acquired through diligent practice. Anyone with a sincere desire to learn can cultivate the depth and subtlety of their touch to an incredible level.

Practices to do this exist in both Eastern and Western healing modalities, yet they are rarely taught outside of strictly professional or clinical settings. Even then, an excellent teacher is required to fully communicate the essence of what to actually do and not just theory and jargon.

In the West, Osteopaths have worked for generations to develop exceptional hands on sensitivity (palpation skill) as an essential cornerstone of their medical practice. This led to the creation of sophisticated healing techniques that frequently yield stunningly positive outcomes. Safely and effectively treating millions around the globe, Osteopathic methods have stood the test of time.

In the East, the “test of time” has been thousands of years as the Daoists refined the bodywork system known as qigong tui na through the millennia. Qigong tui na took perceptive touch and the ability to become subtly aware of the body to near unimaginable depths, simultaneously creating a system for reliably transmitting this skill through the generations.

What You Will Learn

This workshop will present an opportunity to learn foundational principles shared between both osteopathy and Daoist qigong tui na. These principles will specifically enhance your ability for global palpation, or feeling through the body at touch.

We’ll also explore the relationship of qigong exercises and Daoist meditation to refining a perceptive touch. Qigong exercises which facilitate developing this sensitivity for both bodywork and other human interactions will comprise the majority of this course.

This workshop is intended to accelerate and level up the skills of bodywork professionals, as well as simply increase the joy that a refined sense of touch can bring to your life and relationships.

Master Bruce Frantzis has invited Alex Frantzis to share this material with you, and it will include Tui Na applications that have not been taught before due to its focus on Osteopathy.
