Year of the Water Dragon – Get into the Flow
At the end of last year, I suggested that people forgive. Forgive others and forgive themselves. And if you know you did wrong or someone else did wrong, forget the blame and emotional energy, let go and just don’t repeat it. For this Chinese New Year we are at a...
Bagua in Beijing
In Beijing last week I awoke super early and had the feeling I should go to the park to meet someone. I knew not who! It is important to follow your hunches in life. After rousing my wife, off we went to Tien Tan (Temple of Heaven) Park, where I used to learn and...

Visiting the Bai Yuan Guan – Taoist White Cloud Temple
Over 25 years ago, from 1985-6, my Taoist master used to send me to White Cloud once or twice a week. He gave me meditation practices, which I did at two spots here. At the time I lived only a 15 minute walk away. The Eight Immortals Upon arriving at the temple with...

Notes from Beijing: Pollution, Building and Freedom
One astonishing sight is the pollution. Yesterday the sky was a nasty shade of grey, and you could barely see the sun through the soup. Yet I was told that it wasn’t that bad. Apparently there is “bad”, “very bad” and then there is “crazy bad”. The U.S. Embassy...

Dissolving Meditation vs. Relaxation
Dissolving the physical body and relaxing it is not the same thing. Often to explain this, I use the image of going from ice to water. Relaxation in the West is mostly understood as a mental or an emotional mood change. When we’re going from ice to water in Taoist...
Medical Qigong
Medical qigong
uses qigong to reverse or mitigate chronic disease and injury. Because most Chinese
physicians are familiar with the acupuncture meridian-line system, the vast
majority of China’s medical qigong programs are based on this. The focus is on
medical therapeutics, rather than spirituality or extreme physical or mental
prowess.
The Sixteen Neigong
Neigong (Nei gung) or “internal power” is the original
chi cultivation system in China,
which was also invented by the Taoists. The 16 neigong develop chi. Within the Energy Arts Qigong Exercise Program you learn these neigong components. You can also learn and place these neigong into any internal martial art such as tai chi or bagua.
Learning qigong is a means by which to realize
the potential of the 16 neigong to balance all of your eight energy bodies,
starting with the physical body. The heart of the Energy Arts Core Qigong
Program is training all 16 components.
